【5月29日 AFP】
中国のコングロマリット（複合企業）大連万達集団（Wanda）初の大型複合観光施設「万達文化旅遊城（Wanda City）」が28日、江西（Jiangxi）省南昌（Nanchang）で開業した。

　万達集団によると、この施設の総面積は200ヘクタール。80ヘクタールの屋外テーマパークエリアには高さと長さが国内最大級のジェットコースターや、国内で最も高いタワー型落下アトラクションがある。プロジェクトの投資額は220億元（約3700億円）という。

　王健林（Wang Jianlin）会長はオープニングセレモニーで外国文化の「侵略」に言及し、文化の領域で中国の影響力を高めたい考えを示したと国営中国中央テレビ（CCTV）は伝えた。
米誌フォーブス（Forbes）から1週間前に中国一の富豪とされた王会長は、来月上海（Shanghai）にテーマパークを開業する米ディズニー（Disney）に対抗していく姿勢も示した。

　万達集団は南昌に続いて、向こう3年で中国国内に同様の施設をさらに6か所増やし、2020年までに15か所程度としたい意向。王会長は「ディズニーが中国の（テーマパーク）事業で10〜20年は利益が出せないようにしたい」と語った。

　専門家の間では万達集団の経験不足を理由に、同社の目標は野心的だとする見方が出ている。来月開業する「上海ディズニーリゾート（Shanghai Disney Resort）」は投資額が55億ドル（約6100億円）。米ディズニーが海外に開くテーマパークとしては仏パリ（Paris）、東京（Tokyo）、香港（Hong Kong）に続いて4か所目となる。

　ただ、万達集団が娯楽事業を手掛けるのは全く初めてではない。2012年には米映画館チェーンのAMCエンターテインメント・ホールディングス（AMC Entertainment Holdings）を買収しており、映画製作や印刷媒体、美術投資にも進出している。
